More American Fork Canyon

When going to American Fork Canyon you have to buy a pass to enter the Canyon. There is not an option to buy a one day pass, so you have to buy a minimum of a three day pass. We figured we needed no better reason to go and spend the next few days exploring the canyon. On this day we drove the Alpine Loop to HWY 114 toward Cascade Springs. Our original plan was to picnic and explore Cascade Springs...however once we got there and saw a "No Picnicking" sign we figured that was not a good place to spend some time. We ending up finding a dirt road with signs leading to a camping area called the Wasatch State Park in the middle of no where....so Fun!! We tend to like places off the beaten path anyways!

All the boys need for entertainment is a container and an assignment to collect rocks.

Sticks to bang on things...we sure have boys!!
We passed a moose hanging out in this lake

We then decided to drive the out the back side of American Fork toward Midway and Heber. You have to take a winding dirt road for about 5 miles. I loved coming over the mountain and seeing Midway...I think we might try coming into the canyon from that direction next time.
