Newport Beach In Southern California

Every year my Dad and Stepmom rent a house for a week in Newport Beach. The day we had to drop off Brian in LA for his Korean "getaway" the boys and I headed over to the beach house. It was so fun to hang out with all of the family the first couple of days, and then when everyone else had to head back to work my Dad stayed with us and we were able to enjoy the beach for a couple more days. It was pretty cold, as far as beach weather goes, but Hudson and Bristol loved playing in the giant sandbox made by God. The mornings were my favorite. After Hudson, my morning wakeup call, would wake up I would toss the boys in the jogging stroller and walk to the local donut shop for coffee and donuts.....we would sit on the beach and watch the surfers, while enjoying our morning treat.
This is what we got to wake up to! Love it!

Ness Family in Southern California

We took all the kids to the children's museum in Old Town Temecula. It was so fun seeing them run around together and explore.

It was HOT! I think it was about 102 degrees, literally! It was nice to enjoy some ice cream!

Silver Lake Loop

On Friday Kim and I took all five boys up Big CottonWood Canyon for a picnic lunch and walk around Silver Lake. It was so fun seeing the boys run down the trail and straight through puddles, "fish" with sticks they found and explore. The boys love to go hiking, even though these days it is more like a nature walk! They wore themselves out and slept all the way down the mountain!

Albion Basin Hike

Four moms and eight kids, ranging in age from 6 months to 5 years old, hiking a round trip of 2 miles can make for an adventure! There were a few tears along the way, but overall a very fun day! Makes for a good night sleep!

Raspberry Patch

I took the boys to a raspberry patch in Payson last night and we picked a couple of pounds of berries. I probably owed a little more for all of the samples the boys were eating during the picking! This morning Hudson said that berry picking is his favorite activity...

Butterfield Canyon Adventure

This morning I borrowed the Cox's truck and trailer and loaded up the boys and Cooper to head up Butterfield Canyon. It is starting to feel a little funny to pack Bristol on my back with my growing mid-section, so my idea was to have Bristol ride the pony and Hudson and Cooper walk. It worked out pretty well! This was also baby Sylvester's first trailer ride and mountain experience. He did an awesome job. We hiked up the canyon and had a picnic lunch and then played in the creek for awhile before hiking back. The boys really wore themselves out because they are both napping as I am typing this!

Cooper and Bristol were dipping their heads in the creek to cool off. Oh to be a kid again!
