Days with Daddy

We "pet sat" our neighbor's turtle for a few days. The poor thing probably got more attention then any turtle would want.

It seems kind of silly but clipping clothes pins onto a string of yarn will entertain the kiddos for at least a half an hour.

Friday

The boys and I were enjoying some ice cream and soaking our feet in the kiddie pool while Sylvester looked like he wanted to join us! It was 100 degrees today and we were doing all we could to cool off and still enjoy being outside. The day started with a great walk around Silver Lake up Big Cotton Wood Canyon, I forgot to bring my camera, and then home for some backyard fun. Sylvester with his "uncle cow"

Mirror Lake Camping Trip

This week we were fortunate enough to spend the past six days in the mountains above Kamas Utah. This area has been a family favorite for about six years. Pre-kids Brian and I used to spend a lot of time hiking and even doing a pack trip on horseback up there. These days we have turned a little soft...we rented a camper and camped in style. We also were able to spend the week with the Epps family. The kids loved camping! The first picture is taken from Ruth Lake. It was a beautiful hike into the lake, and not too bad for packing in the kids! The boys enjoyed hunting for worms with Brian!

More Ruth Lake....four adults each carrying a kid!

Hudson helping prepare some of the trout caught.

This was Mirror Lake

Wall Lake...this is the lake that has been frequented by Brian and I for years. It is also a pretty good walk to pack in kids. Once we got there we ate lunch and did some fishing.
Hudson has been SO excited about fishing. He goes to sleep talking about fish and wakes up talking about fish!

Home away from home. I think I am sold on campers...it may be the only way to camp with kids...it makes it easy!

We camped at Lost Creek campground and this lake was a short walk from our campsite.

We had a wonderful time exploring the mountains, fishing, playing in the dirt, getting coffee at the Samak House in Kamas, going to Oakley to watch a rodeo, and just spending time all together!

Ride and Hide Cowgirl Getaway

Last week I was able to spend four days riding in some of the most beautiful mountains in Utah. I went to the 17th annual Ride and Hide Cowgirl Getaway. I met some wonderful women and my favorite part, spending some much anticipated time in the saddle!
